BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE PARTNER INSTITUTION
The Adult Education Centre in Ourense is a public institution dedicated to adult and second chance learning. 975 students study here daily in the hopes of completing their secondary education and thus obtaining an official degree in Secondary Education. Another possible option to acquire this degree is Distance Education, where students who are not able to attend classes regularly, have the option of meeting with teachers on a weekly basis. Other educational programs include Garantia Social, adult literacy classes, computer classes, Aula Mentor online classes and foreign language classes such as English and French. 32 teachers train students not only in academic studies but also in the achievement of career goal opportunities. The school also works with the local Penitentiary, where inmates are trained by visiting teachers from the Adult Education Centre towards the goal of attaining official education degrees.
Young Offenders Centres of Monteledo and Montefiz
Monteledo is in Ourense, Galicia, Spain. It is run by the foundation “ Camiña Social “ . It educates young offenders after being sentenced by the Court. It functions as an open and residential centre. With a capacity for 24 residents, at the moment it holds 17 young offenders.
Montefiz is also in Ourense, Galicia, Spain. This residential centre provides therapy to 17 young offenders with psichological and psiquiatric pathologies which usually involves behavioural problems after being sentenced by Court.
